Gifts of loss. Our story.

In the middle of 2019 a man who lived in one of our condominiums with our posters called us to express how much he loved our posters. He offered to join our small company without pay to help us grow and continue publishing our work.

This man was Hisham Harun, a retired award winning newspaper editor from New Straits Times.

Hisham loved working with us and never failed to remind us of that fact. He was always cheerful, always positive and always reminded us to count our blessings. We are proud and blessed to call him our colleague.

Together we helped many small businesses and made many friends.

As the creator of Seed posters, Hisham inspired and supported me personally ever since the start of the project for which I am so deeply grateful. He never stopped telling us how great this project is and how many people are benefiting from it. His words fuels us all to go on.

Our dear colleague passed on the 31st of October 2020, exactly one year after we welcomed him into our small family. This poster is a tribute to him and the gift that has given us after his passing by showing us that Death…

  1. …Makes life meaningful.

Just as there is no light without darkness, no white without black, no happiness without suffering, there is no life without death. Death that lurks in our futures force us to make our days count. It makes us think, what is it we are living for and what we want to accomplish in the time given to us.

  2. …Brings change, reminding us that it is the only constant thing.

Death of anything gives a chance for the new to arrive. It gives you a chance to rethink, restructure, re-calibrate and begin anew.

  3. …Is a wake up call.

It makes you pause and think about what is it you are living for, what is it you truly value and what is it that is worth your time.

  4. …Makes you stronger.

Death of someone is painful because there was a meaning that this person held for you. Perhaps, they were your support, or your optimism. When they die, you have the chance to find these qualities in yourself. You incorporate them into yourself and they become a part of you. You become more whole in that process.

  5. …Brings compassion into your life.

We are reminded of our shared human burden. We understand others and their pain better, when we experience pain.

  6. …Is the pause you might need to think about the spiritual world.

Questioning life and its ways, gives you a possibility to find new answers and connect to life on another level.

In memory of Hisham Harun.
