I don’t know what it is about hand-crafted mechanisms, paper or birds, but Lucy Green’s creations definitely make you pause your daily Instagram scrolling.
Paper crafts are known to be delicate art, but perhaps this is taking it a step further. The artist from the English village constructs her birds from parts all of which sit so harmoniously together, you don’t even notice the gaps in their bodies or the frame around their little landscapes.
And when you turn the brass, the creatures come alive, spreading and flopping their paper wings in a sweet slow motion that gets you mesmerised.
I suppose this is what happens when you combine talent with dedication - magic.
